Irish Association of Snowsport Instructors (IASI)
The Irish Association of Snowsport Instructors is the recognised training and awarding body delivering Snowsport qualifications in Ireland. IASI are recognised by the International Ski Instructors Association ISIA and the International Federation of Snowsports Instructors IVSI giving worldwide recognition of IASI qualifications. IASI are recognised by the EU and part of the delegated act recognising the title of professional snowsport instructor in the EU.
Alpine Coaching are licensed providers of IASI courses and can deliver IASI training and qualifications using our approved IASI Educators. Training and qualification courses can take place in mountain based resorts as well as the indoor environment.
The level 1 licence is one of the recognised qualifications to teach in an indoor centre and forms the starting point for further qualifications. IASI have 4 levels leading to International accreditation ( beyond level 1 the courses must be taken in the mountain environment).

Refreshers and CDP (continued Professional Development)
If you hold an IASI qualification it is important to keep this valid by attending regular refreshers and CDP training. Alpinecoaching offer these at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead on a regular basis.

CPD is a 3 hour session to revalidate your qualification. + 1 hour home study
£160 first person with additional people £40 per person
Lift ticket must be purchased separately before session.
Private instructor development coaching (2 hour session)
£160.00 first person with additional people (up to 5)
charged at £40 per person.
These are available on Thursdays between 10am and 5pm

May - sat 3rd, sun 4th, mon 5th ( bank holiday Monday) and sat 10th, sun 11th May.
September - 26, 27, 28 Sep and 4,5 October.

Price: £685.00
If candidates miss some dates we will be able to offer top up sessions.
A real great way to build up the training towards a recognised ski instructors qualification.
During the course you will cover the following topics:
The IASI technical model and fundamental skiing components
The learning progression from beginner to parallel skier
Develop your own personal performance in line with the IASI level 1 instructor outcome level
Safety and communication when delivering a teaching session
Lesson delivery / planning / implementation
Skier performance analysis
Working as an instructor in the indoor environment
The programme is designed to build candidates up to being accredited as level 1 instructors. Assessment and mentoring is ongoing throughout the course. One completion of the course one all the required units have been passed a level 1 license is issued.
Additional units required NOT included in the course:
2 day first aid course
CRB ( Criminal records check) certificate
30 Hours shadowing ( assisting instructors) organized free of charge though The Snow Centre.
Price for the course £675.00 includes IASI membership and card, work book and manual, all training fees and slope fees.
